-IMPERIO will play with Shaman, the new band formed by ex Angra members Andre Matos, Luis Mariutti and Ricardo Confessori, on May 19 & 20th. More details here.
-IMPERIO will start its first Southamerican tour between June and July, apparently as a supporting act for Helloween. Soon, more news on this...
-IMPERIO will release an Ep with covers, new songs and videoclips in September. On January 2002, the band will start recording the successor of "Paz en la tormenta", to be released in March/April 2002 through Blackstar 3.
-Christian Bertoncelli recorded in the album "Sueños Púrpura: Homenaje a Deep Purple" (Purple Dreams: Tribute to Deep Purple), to be released in May through Blackstar 3. The singer performed "Lady double dealer" with Azeroth's singer Diego Valdez.
-Christian Bertoncelli was Jerikó's singer for one night, on the last saturday 14th gig in a Buenos Aires pub. The band played songs from its two albums, plus the Iron Maiden cover "Wrathchild". Christian was called to take care of the vocal duties in that show, due to departure of Jeriko's frontman, Juan Soto.

-IMPERIO starts today the recording of "Callejero", the cover versión that will be included in the Rata Blanca Tribute, due to release this year.

-Keyboard player Axel Sierra Bas has temporarily quit IMPERIO. The reasons are personal and have nothing to do with the band. IMPERIO will not look for another keyboard player for the moment, the band will continue playing as a five piece. The March 2nd gig in Bomberos Voluntarios (S.F. Solano) was the debut of this new line up.

-IMPERIO wish to thank the fans who voted the band as the BEST ARGENTINIAN BAND OF YEAR 2000, and "Paz en la tormenta" as the BEST 2000 ALBUM in Epopeya Magazine Annual Survey. Another credits for IMPERIO were SECOND BEST VOCALIST (Christian Bertoncelli); SECOND BEST KEYBOARD PLAYER (Axel Sierra Bas); SECOND BEST ALBUM COVER ("Paz en la tormenta"); and the mention in different categories of Gustavo Gorosito (guitar), Gabriel Gonzalez (bass), Willy Varela Gonzalez (drums), plus the ranking of three songs in the BEST SONG category (IMPERIO was the band with more songs ranked in the TOP 10). Thank you to all who supported and helped in the growing of this band... there is much more to do in year 2001!

-IMPERIO played two gigs in Cemento during January, and has already scheduled dates for this month in Showcenter Haedo, plus a gig on March in Francisco Solano and another show in Cemento with singer Paul Di'Anno (ex Iron Maiden).
-IMPERIO is planning its first south american tour by middle year.
-IMPERIO will release its two albums in Spain soon, with a local label yet to be confirmed. An exclusive distribution deal in Brazil its also in progress.
